Engaging young people in a positive future

Activities

Youth for the planet : Taking Climate Action in Your Own Community

About

This activity was inspired by the educational kit “Youth for the Planet” created by the NGO WWF. It aims to teach young people about the various causes (natural and anthropogenic) and consequences of climate change (wildfires, rising sea levels, intensifying droughts, etc.). It also encourages young people to learn about the actions they can take in different contexts (school, home, community) to combat climate change and to think about the actions they themselves wish to implement. This activity consists of an annotated PowerPoint presentation with content elements for facilitation, an activity sheet to guide the facilitation, and two activity resources (Note Sheet, Youth Project Planning) to help young people deepen their understanding of the issues and collaboratively think about climate projects they can undertake.
