Exploring Climate Change and Mental Health : an Educational Toolkit

About

This educational toolbox was created by Natania Abebe, a nurse and teaching assistant at the University of British Columbia, where she teaches the "Health Impacts of Climate Change" course. It contains a film dedicated to mental health and climate change, giving voice to students and climate change experts, as well as cards with definitions of the terms "eco-anxiety", "ecological paralysis", and "ecological grief" and associated reflection questions. Through this toolbox, participants are encouraged to express the emotions they feel and wish to understand and explore in relation to climate change. They are also encouraged to examine the relationships between human activities, mental health, emotions and the behaviours we adopt.
